Three Track Ideas
Song Number 1: Twenty One Pilots - Holding On To You (2013)
- There is a lot of variation of the instrumental (piano to up-beat rapping) which could each provide different visual
- The fast-paced song means a high cutting-rate
- An urban vibe is caused by the rapping
- I imagine someone walking really quickly to this fast-paced music possibly to the beat (1:07-1:20) (disjunctive music video)
- I imagine a lot of handicam
- The actor in the video could be getting angry at some points (angry non-verbal language) (around 1:32 - 1:50)
- Slow-motion; time-stretch
Song Number 2: The Maine - Raining In Paris (2013)
- This song is very slow & emotional with a lot of metaphors
- This song's narrative is quite lonely; the music video's character would be quite lonely (this sadness would be emphasised)
- The cake in this music video is quite random but something about this lyric video works due to the lack of communication & the simplicity that is stylised
- This lyric video has a deeper meaning
- Slow-motion; time-stretch
Song Number 3: The Downtown Fiction - I Just Wanna Run (2011)
- This song, like the Twenty One Pilot's song is quite upbeat & there could be a literal video of running (illustration) due to the lyrics, high cutting-rate & fast tracking with handicam
- There is a punky-pop feel; this keeps a rebellious vibe
- After the third verse there could be a visual build-up to the chorus (cutting to the beat)
- I imagine parkour as well
