AD: Track concept Development




Location:
  • City apartment with large windows revealing a view of the urban landscape

Narrative:
  • Young man attempts to discourage a woman from making a wrong decision wanting to "grab both of your shoulders and shake" and make her "snap out of it", breaking the spell under which she is "hypnotised". 
  • In the song's literal sense, discourage her from falling for a guy who is not the right one for her.
  • In an abstract version it could be connected with some sort of abuse - drugs, alcohol or possibly suicidal tendencies

Body Language:
  • Man: Desperate, emotional, frustrated
  • Woman: Apathetic, distant, "high",
Characters:
  • Man: 
    • Young, 
    • Tall, 
    • Dark haired
  • Woman: 
    • Young, 
    • slightly shorter than the male character, but not so much that he towers over her
    • Dirty blonde hair

Costume:
  • Guy wearing a white t-shirt, casual
  • Girl wearing black or grey t-shirt, casual
    • Ying-Yang symbolism. 

Props:
  • Cigarette pack/razor blades/empty needles/empty beer cans or bottles

Lighting:
  • Low key lighting, over woman heavy contrasting shadows
  • High key lighting over man 

Colour: 
  • Slight downscaling of saturation, giving the shots a more grimy and realistic representation of life.
Camera Techniques: 
  • Close-up shots of faces showing emotions or lack thereof
  • Medium shots showing more of the body language of the two characters.
